A lot of men are going to go through storms. The average man prays for the storms to go away. He is looking for comfort. A man with the EDGE prays for strength so he can withstand the storm.
The next 12 months are going to be crucial for your growth. You will be tested in every single way. Do you have the faith to figure it out? Are you worthy of your purpose?
If you’re not ready for it, you’re going to crumble.
When you are growing, eventually you will hit a wall. The wall represents your growth The wall is there to challenge you to see if you want it enough. Most men retreat from the wall because they didn’t expect it. They think that growth would be linear. Success is all over the place. Your job every day is to grow and expand.
This is part of the process. The wall is there to serve you. When you anticipate the storm, you won’t back away when you hit a wall.
5 Things You Can Do When You Hit a Wall
1- Don’t argue with reality
We’re constantly thinking that “this shouldn’t happen to me.” There is no upside to thinking it shouldn’t happen or complaining about it. You leak energy when you go into a victim mentality. Hitting a wall will bring awareness to what you need to work on the most. Ask yourself what is life trying to bring to your attention. Was it because you went against your intuition? Was it because you weren’t patient? What is life trying to tell you?
2- Acknowledge that there's a wall in front of you.
Most people think that if they ignore it, things will go back to normal. Part of growth is acknowledging that the wall is there. Pretending it’s not there will not fix the problem. When you acknowledge that you’ve hit the wall, you will realize that it’s not as bad as you think. If you try to pretend it isn’t there, you’re only going to attract more pain into your life.
3- Accept the consequences
Don’t create a story around it. Who is paying the price because you don’t have the capacity to break through? Take responsibility and own it! You’re the only one responsible for what happens in your life. This will give you the power to overcome it. Most of you are wearing armor to protect yourself from feeling the pain. Not feeling the pain is only going to make it more painful when you hit a wall.
4- Choose your experience
Most people get caught up in the problem instead of focusing on the opportunities. Make choices based on expansion. You can choose to be the victim or the creator. When you choose your experience, you will begin to level up. You can choose to be crushed by the wall or to climb it.
On the other side of the wall is a better version of you. If you don't believe that, you’re always going to be stopped by the wall.
5- Learn from your experience
Look for the feedback life is giving you. The wall is feedback. It’s telling you to grow and expand. It’s telling you there's another version of you. Find the patterns and learn from them. That is the main purpose of the wall. Don’t avoid the wall. When you hit a wall, it’s exposing your patterns. Exposing your patterns is how you expand your capacity.
What choice are you going to make? Are you going to choose to stay on the side of the wall that makes you feel comfortable? Or are you going to do whatever it takes to break through? To conquer the storm, you must break through. The wall is there to sharpen your edge. If you don’t have the capacity to break through, then you must sharpen your edge.
When You hit a wall, believe you are worthy of the challenge. The other side has something better than you expected. But you can’t break through unless you learn from what’s in front of you. The wall is there to shape you into the person who is strong enough to break through.
Stop deflecting. Stop pretending. Face the wall. Break through.
